The moon is full and bright
And we shall see what can't be seen
on any other night:
Skeletons and ghosts and ghouls,
Grinning goblins fighting duels,
Werewolves rising from their tombs,
Witches on their magic brooms.
Apart from the odd trick or treating in our frindly neighbourhood back home, South Africans have never been big on the whole Haloween thing. The only guess i can hazard is that its too dangerous to roam our neighbourhoods late at night.
I have, however, always loved a bit of a dress up so I relish this occasion and get to make up for my lack of chilhood sillyness because londoners go ALL out at this time of year.
This saturday i have a haloween party, combined with a farewell so have been obsessing over the perfect costume for weeks now. For some strange reason i have always wanted to dress as a Greek goddess - with the toga and he gold etc etc. Weired i know, so i thought this was as good a chance as any. Aphrodite - the Greek goddess of love, beauty and sexuality. Good bloody laugh that is.
-you get the idea
While i love a dress up, i always try to remain as feminine as possible because I sure as shit have NO desire to be looking like a goblin, ghost or worty witch...so if any of you are looking for ideas, i found this amazing site that also does free delivery in the UK and has the cutest stuff - http://www.flagshipfancydress.co.uk
Brilliant stuff for Haloween and other fancy dress parties!
Have a spooktacular night (i came up with that shit right off the top of my head - honest)
xx
