Wednesday Weakness

Everyone gets a mid-week shopping twitch...dont we?

Well at this time of year i get to satisfy that twitch with the extensive christmas shopping list i need to start attending to.  So now i can shop, guilty free...kind of.

Here are part of what the wednesday weakness shopping bag looked like:

This one was for Moi.  london is getting FREEZING (was -1 this morning) so im in desperate need of a snood.  Was a bargain though for only £4 at Primark (not the exact pic as above but very similar).

This bad boy is for my six year old cousin.  I cannot WAIT to test him out...

Hope you are enjopying your christmas shopping as much as I am.

Office etiquette …

Having grown up in South Africa I think there are very different standards as to what is considered acceptable and unacceptable when it comes to professional behaviour and general office etiquette.  Well I suppose if you take a minute to consider the youth of this country the vast difference is scary.  It, therefore is no wonder that by the time the little punks reach an employable age they have no idea how to act on a public bus, let alone a professional office environment…
I work in the very close confines of some interesting characters.

I really think a simple do’s and don’ts would come in handy
Do:
v  Greet your colleagues when you enter the office, saying hello is not offensive behaviour
v  I couldn’t think of a whole lot more do’s im afraid, so from my own experience, ill just skip strait to the don’ts… please bear in mind that a all of these scenarios have actually happened to me
DON’T:
v  Come storming into the office immediately letting anybody who will listen know about what a fowl mood you are in because your boyfriend has pissed you off, your cat shat on your bed or little girl vomited all over the kitchen floor this morning.
v  Walk around with tissue paper in your armpits because the aircon is not working – it is never hot enough to look like that much of a twat.
v  Eat mackerel for lunch so the WHOLE office can smell it, then not clean your plates properly so the mackerel rots in the drain of the office sink.
v  Leave the office every fifteen minutes to go brush your teeth (are you effing kidding me?)..and I thought smokers took the piss
v  Come towards my desk with your arms flapping about to try and get my attention, a simple “excuse me” will suffice
v  Be so naïve and pig headed as to think your opinions are the only ones that matter, and don’t go on about how gross homosexuality is because the dude that brushes his teeth and flaps his arms is looking very questionable right now…
v  Whistle
v  Assume there is some form of hierarchy in this office.  If you not the boss you are nothing.
v  Wear garishly hideous shirts – “peacocking” is an old wives tale,a nd if I were you I would be trying to fade into the background not attract more attention.
v  TALK TO ME IN THAT TONE OF VOICE…

Thank goodness its almost the weekend ;-)
Have a happy Wednesday

Dear Borris...

Dear Borris

I get the over land train to work and back every day.  I noticed you have now started urging people to ride their bicycles to work instead.  Is that because you too, see what a revolting experience it is to be on any train or tube for longer than ten minutes a day?  Just wondering???

So i thought I might write to you about and suggest a few additions to the constitution, or perhaps to urge the graceful English public to improve their railway manners...

  • Please don't sneeze on me (this actually happened this morning, i almost threw up)
  • please don't speak at the TOP of your voice.  No one wants to hear how badly educated you are.
  • Please don't snog your girlfriend/boyfriend/homosexual life partner.  get a room.
  • please don't puke on the train.  if you are seriously that pissed, get a cab so you don't have to share your splatter with the rest of London
  • PLEASE DON'T SIT NEXT TO ME.  ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE IS A WHOLE CABIN OF EMPTY SEATS.  I mean, are you for real?  I have no desire to smell your lack of hygiene.
  • please don't give me evil eyes when i don't stand up for you and offer you my seat.  You are not pregnant, you're just a bit overweight, and if you are pregnant, you are far too young and should probably offer me a seat.
  • please don't bring your pitbull on the train.  It does not make you any cooler or more mucho, you are still a filthy chav.
  • Put your head down, don't make eye contact, pretend you are writing an email on your blackberry and don't miss your stop.
Thanks for your consideration....

Kind regards

Quiet Friday Night

After the day of hell and hangover i have had today i decided that a quiet Friday night is DEFINITELY on the cards.  I thought i should thank my body for allowing me to live through today....10 Cool things to do when you have the house to yourself on a Friday night:

1.  walk around the house in our underwear/naked

2.  Do a facemask - there will be no one to judge you, laugh at you, or take photographic evidence

3.  Dance around your room, in your underwear to loud music while face mask is "juicing"

4.  Paint your nails

5.  write a letter (love)

6.  Call your mom - she will be SO proud that you aren't out razzing on a Friday night

7.  Eat as much chocolate as you want, and hide all the wrappers.  (a necessity if you are hungover)

8.  Bake cup cakes for someone special, and ice each one individually (one of my favorite things to do at the moment)

9.  Look through old photos - its good for the soul*** remember, laugh and love

10.  DREAM ;-)

Have a lovely weekend

Red wine hangovers are so unnattractive...

I will be the first to admit that after a hard week, there is nothing better than a glass (and i mean ONE glass) of red wine.  The problem is, is it EVER just one glass?  NO.  Argggh, i get so annoyed with myself.....

So last night a girlfriend invited a couple of us over to see the new place her and her boyfriend have just moved into.  Being a Thursday and all, we decided to have a few glasses of wine and some snacks and then head home for an early night.  lets just say the few glasses turned into a few BOTTLES, well more than a few if im honest.  She is the most wonderful hostess so always has a full wine rack and snacks on tap...so i suppose, what reason would there be to leave before 1am in the morning????

Ummm....MAYBE because i have a huge profile that needs to be submitted to my clients today.

Naturally with a red wine fuelled night you will NEVER avoid the following:
  • red stained lips and teeth - so gorg
  • VERY deep and emotional conversations (this can include hair colour) with your girlfriends
  • Slurring
  • dry mouth
  • fuzzy head
  • craving for greasy food (mushrooms, hash brown and bacon sandwich)
  • temporary vision imparement (this is a new one for me)
  • Sinus problems (the odd tear as well) ;-)
Fool fool FOOOL.

I dont know if i will get out of this day alive.

Starbucks i love you....

Hello Haloweeeeeen

The moon is full and bright
And we shall see what can't be seen
on any other night:

Skeletons and ghosts and ghouls,
Grinning goblins fighting duels,
Werewolves rising from their tombs,
Witches on their magic brooms.

Apart from the odd trick or treating in our frindly neighbourhood back home, South Africans have never been big on the whole Haloween thing.  The only guess i can hazard is that its too dangerous to roam our neighbourhoods late at night.

I have, however, always loved a bit of a dress up so I relish this occasion and get to make up for my lack of chilhood sillyness because londoners go ALL out at this time of year.

This saturday i have a haloween party, combined with a farewell so have been obsessing over the perfect costume for weeks now.  For some strange reason i have always wanted to dress as a Greek goddess - with the toga and he gold etc etc.  Weired i know, so i thought this was as good a chance as any.  Aphrodite - the Greek goddess of love, beauty and sexuality.  Good bloody laugh that is.
-you get the idea

While i love a dress up, i always try to remain as feminine as possible because I sure as shit have NO desire to be looking like a goblin, ghost or worty witch...so if any of you are looking for ideas, i found this amazing site that also does free delivery in the UK and has the cutest stuff - http://www.flagshipfancydress.co.uk

Brilliant stuff for Haloween and other fancy dress parties!

Have a spooktacular night (i came up with that shit right off the top of my head - honest)

A Welcome....to Me

So.... over the past few weeks i have been desperately demoitaved in my job (despite the piling assignments and work load that seems to grow daily)...which has caused me to be cruising the net a little bit more than i should be.  October, has been a rediculous month of birthdays, farewells and general celebrations, which means i have had to tighten up on the amount of online shopping that can be included in my cruising...hence the BLOG.  I have read so many inspiring journals and have laughed out loud (I effing hate it when people shorten this phrase to LOL), and been on the verge of tears at some, so thought that perhaps a bit of introspection, in the form of my own little blog, will help me with my professional motivation as well.

I suppose another aspect of distraction, may be the fact that i have been asked to be a bridesmaid....for the...FOURTH time.  now dont get me wrong, I mean this is a very VERY special honour, but i have had the odd "27 dresses", "why dont you write a book about it", "FOURTH TIME, are you for real???" comment thrown at me, so i thought, well what the hell, lets blog about it.  Hence, I will be creating my very own - Bridesmaid Abroad, section of my blog discussing the steps to being the ultimate BM (Bridesmaid, just in case) from bridezillas to bra straps ;-) complete honesty...and some very useful tips for those BM virgins.

I wracked my brain for a title for this blog, and all of them seemed more suitable for indiviual posts and things i wanted to write about...so i had to think about something that represented me more closely.  My mom (also my inspiration, my hero and everything i want to be one day) often calls me princess so i thought of a way to maybe integrate that into my title...but referring to ones self as a princess may potentially be frowned upon by some of the rigirous followers I have seen on these blogs, so I chose Mosey Moo.  i wonder if a blog title relating to a cute cow will be taken more seriously than a Princess, hmmm, time will only tell I suppose.  And who says these things have to be serious anyway, right?  Mosey Mo...  A nicknamed coined by mommy dearest since i was in diapers.  Its based on the cartoon character Mina Moo - a south african cartoon that used to be on TV before school every morning and that i used to absolutely inSIST on watching.  I can still hear the tune in my head, "mina moo, mina mooo, meena moo and meee"...thats about as much as I can remember.  I also thought that mina moo was the most beautiful and wise (after mom of course)  cow/woman ever....hence, following said obsession and a slight alteration of the name and...Mosey Moo... there you have it.  ENJOY.
